Data Visualization Workshop Held at Stamford Campus

Stamford students and staff attended the first data visualization workshop offered by the Business Data Analytics (BDA) and MSBAPM program. John Wilson, instructor in residence in the OPIM department shared his knowledge on the current topic of visualization.  The workshop was designed to give attendees a conceptual understanding of how visualization is being used across industries to communicate information, and to provide practical skills for creating charts, diagrams, or animations to communicate a message.

One of the leaders in the data visualization industry is Tableau, a software company headquartered in Seattle. In less than two hours, workshop attendees were able to tell visual stories about data in Tableau, and learned how to create calculated fields and set up parameters.

Each attendee received a special gift from the Business Data Analytics program.
